I just signed up for a 5K in my town in November. I’m not a runner so am definitely starting from scratch. Does anyone have a good schedule to follow as far as how much I should be running by when? I’m going to have to start off at a half mile if that’s any indication of how out of shape I am! Feeling very motivated though…

Try a couch to 5k schedule. It will ease you into it, and it push you more and more each day.
